Frequently asked questions
Reseal or replace — what is the difference?
Resealing fixes the perimeter gasket or silicone on a still-good unit. If the glazing is misted or blown, the sealed unit itself has failed and the glass has to be replaced — resealing will not clear the condensation.
How long does it take?
A single window is typically 30–60 minutes. A full house of 8–10 windows is usually done in a day.
Can I DIY the reseal?
External silicone touch-ups yes, but a blown sealed unit needs a glazier — the unit is factory-sealed with inert gas and cannot be resealed on-site.
Does home insurance cover it?
Accidental damage cover sometimes pays out for cracked glass, but standard policies do not cover seal failure from age.
Why is there condensation between the panes?
It usually means the sealed glass unit has failed. Surface silicone will not remove moisture trapped between panes; the glazed unit normally needs replacing.
Can several windows be cheaper per unit?
Yes. The call-out and travel are spread across the job, so ask for a total and per-window breakdown when repairing several at once.
